Motorcyclist hospitalized after colliding with van on Route 9 in Middletown
A motorcyclist was hospitalized after colliding with a van on Route 9 in Middletown on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
Officers were dispatched to a car versus motorcycle crash on Route 9 South at the Washington Street exit around 3:25 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the Middletown Police Department.
A preliminary investigation alleged that the Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling northbound on Route 9 when the motorcyclist attempted to turn left onto Washington Street and collided with the side of a Chevrolet Express van that was traveling southbound, police said.
The motorcyclist had a laceration to her head and was transported to Hartford Hospital where she was listed in stable condition on Wednesday evening, according to police. The van driver was not injured in the collision, police said.
Route 9 South was closed while the Middletown Police Department’s Traffic Division investigated the crash.
