Warmer, drier trend takes shape over the PNW Wednesday
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Warmer and drier weather starts to build over western Oregon and Washington on Wednesday.
Early morning frost will quickly be forgotten as sunny skies help warm the Portland-Vancouver area on Wednesday. Temperatures will jump nearly 30 degrees from Portland's morning low to afternoon high. Valley locations will return to the mid-60s on Wednesday and will only continue to warm from there.
The latest dry and sunny weather pattern will put Portland in the warming zone this week. Temperatures will continue to warm into the low to mid 70s by the end of the week. This comes as very little cloud coverage is expected.
Winds will start to increase Friday as gusts near 20-25 mph. These breezy conditions will only continue to keep Portland's pollen counts high through the weekend.
With little in the way of rain to clear pollen from the skies, warming temperatures will help blooms and blossoms produce more allergens.
Very little moisture is expected over the Pacific Northwest over the next week. Portland's warming and drying remains on track for what's 'normal' for the month of April in western Oregon and Washington.
