VICTORIA Beckham turns 50 today and if her Spice Girls name is anything to go by, her celebrations and presents will certainly be “posh.”
Jewellery experts predict David Beckham will gift Victoria a £200,000 diamond ring for this year’s milestone – but it could present some “struggles” for the mum-of-four, say experts.
Between an internationally renowned ex-footballer and a former global popstar, it won’t surprise you that “Posh and Becks”, are used to sporting some pretty extravagant presents.
In fact, David is said to have given his wife a whopping 15 rings worth a total of £8.9million over the years, including diamonds and rubies.
But from security issues to expensive upkeep, here’s how Posh’s lavish presents could be more of a “birthday curse” for the glamorous mum-of-four….
£200,000 birthday ring
Over the years, it has become widely known that VB is regularly gifted a lavish ring by David for special occasions and it’s thought this year will be no different.
Jeremy Hinds, Sales Development Director at F. Hinds predicts the former footballer could give Victoria a £200,000 ring this year.
But, the upkeep of such an expensive piece of jewellery can be a nightmare.
Ben Roberts, Managing Director of jewellery brand Clogau, told Fabulous that if celebrities wear expensive jewellery on a regular basis they will endure natural wear and tear and this could “require comprehensive restoration from highly specialised jewellers.”
He added: “This would be a lengthy process, and work would extend over several weeks, if not months.
“When caring for any type of historic or priceless jewellery, our favourite celebs and their team will need to employ careful maintenance, with regular inspections and in-depth evaluations, gentle cleaning to restore sheen, and, if necessary, expert repairs to ensure its longevity”.
£2million necklace
When Posh and Becks’ eldest son Brooklyn tied the knot with Nicola Peltz, the Beckham family pulled out all the stops.
And Victoria dazzled as mother-of-the-groom in a showstopper “15 carat” necklace that was worth £2million, as seen by pictures in Vogue.
While it’s not known if Victoria was lent the necklace or bought it, having such an expensive piece of jewellery is likely to have been tricky with security.
Jewellery expert Tenishia McSweeney from Prestige Pawnbrokers of Channel 4’s Posh Pawn, told Fabulous: “Security costs also come on top of insurance.
“Celebrities need to protect themselves against misplacing items, damage as well as theft.
“Insurance can run into thousands to millions just to insure the goods.”
In 2022, the Beckhams were forced to beef up security at their £6m Cotswolds retreat after their London property was burgled that year.

They’ve already got 24-hour security and gatehouse, but were applying to create new Fort Knox-style measures after they were robbed while sleeping at their London £31.5 million mansion in February 2022.
The thief stole thousands of pounds of designer and electric goods.
£850,000 diamond ring
Ever since David popped the question with a £65,000 diamond ring, Victoria has been trading up her ring collection.
For her 30th she received yet another impressive sparkler, a pink diamond worth nearly £850,000.
One thing Victoria will need to do is keep the ring out of the sun.
Nilesh Rakholia, jewellery expert and founder of Abelini, told Fabulous: “Make sure to keep your jewellery out of direct sunlight as this can bleach and damage delicate jewellery.
“For example, silver tarnishes when exposed to direct sunlight and topaz, opals, and amethyst can fade or change colour when exposed to heat from the sun.”
£80,000 Crocodile Birkin
It must be hard shopping for the woman who has everything, but David decided to splash out for one special occasion.
He once bought her an albino Nilo crocodile Himalayan Hermès Birkin bag that cost a reported £80,000, claims CNBC.
In addition to this, Victoria reportedly has 100 of these five-figure handbags in a collection that’s estimated to be worth £1,604,314.

The big day came after the two started dating in 1997 and Becks popped the question on January 24, 1998.
Posh and Becks sat on golden thrones at the altar in their venue, Ireland’s Luttrellstown Castle.
According to reports, they spent around £500,000, making it one of the most extravagant celebrity weddings.
According to Hermes, the upkeep isn’t easy.
They advised: “Leather is sensitive to natural elements: water, oil, heat, light, and environments that are too humid or too dry.
“Protect it from prolonged exposure to intense light and heat (direct sunlight, in a window, on a radiator, etc.), which may alter the colour.
“To preserve its original beauty, your Hermes leather object needs time to rest.
“When you are not using it, make sure to provide it with the best possible preservation conditions: a temperate, dry environment away from light, preferably in its original box or dust cover.
“To maintain its silhouette, place tissue paper or bubble wrap inside and make sure all zippers are zipped and straps are attached.”

Victoria’s 50th celebrations
The celebrations for Victoria’s 50th are thought to be a quiet and classy affair with a lot of laughter and family – just the way she likes it.
She wrote on Instagram: “As I get ready to step into 50 (in heels, of course!), I feel so incredibly blessed to have reached this milestone.
“I believe you can be many things. A pop star, a mother, a wife, a designer.
“My passion has always been to dream big, then dream even bigger!”
The couple are to host a big showbiz party this summer to celebrate the upcoming milestones of her 25-year wedding anniversary on July 4 with husband David, plus their daughter Harper’s 13th birthday on July 10.
There is talk of it being the “godmother of all parties,” which will rival the multimillion-pound extravaganza they helped throw for son Brooklyn’s wedding to heiress Nicola Peltz (only this time, they won’t need to run ideas past the in-laws).
