Kelly Clarkson isn’t ‘owning her sex appeal’ after rapid weight loss, she’s uncomfortable & style’s ‘all over the place’
KELLY Clarkson’s weight loss has triggered fashion setbacks on her TV show as she struggles to embrace her slimmed-down shape, a stylist has said.
She claimed the team on The Kelly Clarkson Show was encouraging the divorced mom of two to wear sexier clothes and to tie in with her new “single era.”
Kelly, 41, shared a clip on Instagram on Saturday where she spoke about the Webby Awards, saying her team was “incredible.”
The Because Of You singer was dressed in a leather mini dress and belt with a cream turtleneck underneath.
“Jeez how the heck did she get so thin!” commented one fan.
“No on this outfit,” added another.
Stylist Tavia Sharp said Kelly’s dress did not fit her properly.
She claimed the undergarment proved Kelly was afraid to show “too much skin.”
Kelly has worn bell-bottom pants, dresses, chiffon blouses, and A-line skirts on the NBC show this season.
The former US idol winner has frequently teamed up her outfits with wedges and high heels.
She also sported bright red lipstick and waist-clinching belts.
BREAKAWAY FROM THE OLD LOOK
“Kelly is not ready for some of these looks,” Sharp told The U.S. Sun.
“Her stylist has been trying to make her look sexier for the show.
“Underneath the lipstick and leather, Kelly is not owning her sex appeal.
“She felt uncomfortable in the mustard leather fitted mini dress and pushed back.
“She did not like the low V-neck and added the turtleneck.
“The dress does not fit her either, and as with other outfits, she added a belt.
“For Kelly, after her rapid weight loss, too much skin would have been on show.”

It seems that Kelly and her stylist may be at odds over how to dress her figure these days.
“Kelly’s stylist wants her to show off her new body and give off this sexy, single girl feel, but she wants to cover herself up,” Sharp added.
“Kelly’s styling is all over the place right now.”

Kelly has been open about her struggles with weight loss.
She shared how a thyroid disorder impacted her weight.
Kelly revealed on her show in January that doctors had said she was pre-diabetic.
“That was literally what happened. I wasn’t shocked. I was a tiny bit overweight, so I wasn’t shocked,” Kelly said.
“But they were like, ‘You’re pre-diabetic. You’re right on the borderline.’”
In an interview with People, Kelly claimed she decided to overhaul her lifestyle.
“I was very unhappy in L.A. and had been for several years. I needed a fresh start,” she said.
“I dropped weight because I’ve been listening to my doctor.
“I eat a healthy mix…and 90 percent of the time I’m really good at it because a protein diet is good for me anyway,” Kelly added.
Kelly’s extreme weight loss has, unfortunately, created extreme differences and issues in her styling.

By February, a source told The U.S. Sun that Kelly had lost 40 pounds.
“Kelly has lost about 40 pounds in the last six months and it’s gotten her fans excited about it,” the source said.
“But it’s not quite as big a deal for Kelly herself or the team on the show because Kelly is constantly updating her look, her workouts, and her diet.”
Kelly has not admitted to using Ozempic or any similar weight-loss drugs.
She went on to showcase her new shape at the 2024 Grammys.

Sharp said Kelly seemed “confused” about her styling off the red carpet.
She claimed the star needed a direction on her TV show.
“Kelly has lost an extreme amount of weight and looks like she wants to experiment to some degree on set,” she said.
“It had been a rapid weight loss, which can feel confusing.
Some of Kelly’s clothes do not even fit her properly.

“There has been a significant change for her and her body.
“Kelly’s extreme weight loss has, unfortunately, created extreme differences and issues in her styling.
“She has been going through all these extremes with her outfits since the beginning of the year.
“Perhaps while not knowing where to turn or who to trust.
“She wears different colors, lengths, and styles.
“These range from rocker tees to bell bottoms, polished blouses, standard skirts, or belted jackets.
“Some of her clothes do not even fit her properly.
“Kelly’s stylist has divorced, so maybe she is simultaneously pushing her into her single era.”
SINCE U BEEN GONE
Kelly left talent manager Brandon Blackstock in 2020 after seven years of marriage.
The pair, who share children River Rose, 10, and Remington Alexander, 8, finalized their divorce in 2022.
Kelly moved to New York in 2023 to start filming a new season of her show, which she has been hosting for five years.
Kelly was still not quite comfortable with her stomach area.

Sharp said Season 5 styling could fail Kelly when she interviews high-profile guests.
Kelly welcomed Hilary Clinton on set on Monday.
Sharp claimed Kelly tried to be brave with her outfit. She said the star looked out of place next to her more “conservative” guest.
“The Hilary Clinton outfit is her bravest style yet,” she said.
“But Kelly was trying too hard, and the shorts suit did not fit her properly.
“She was trying to be sexy here by showing her legs with these heels.
“Here she is, showing off her legs and wearing those high heels.

“It is such a mismatch with the red lipstick.
“Kelly ended up towering over Hilary Clinton in her heels and sexy shorts, whereas Hilary is very conservative.
“The fact that she decided to look taller than Hilary was also strange.
“They are probably the same height.
“If you compare Kelly to Drew Barrymore, who is pretty conservative and well put together, her current styling is just not working.”
