Watch moment driver slammed ‘worst parking ever’ as Fiat spotted stopped with back wheel in the air
THIS is the moment a pedestrian informed a driver that their vehicle’s tyres were “in the air” following a botched parking attempt.
Viewers hit out at the driver’s “worst parking ever” after their Fiat 500 was snapped with its back wheels off the ground by an onlooker in Norwich.
Brandon Parfitt noticed the car perched on a grass verge on Saturday and believed the motor was involved in a horror collision.
But when he approached the vehicle, he saw that both the front and driver’s seats were occupied.
“There was an old lady and an old man just sitting in the car just quietly not doing anything,” he said.
“I thought, ‘I won’t say anything’ but I walked past and just checked the back of the car to see if it was alright or if they’d been shoved up the back or something like that.
“I turned around and went ‘Nah, I’ve got to say something’ because it was parked very much in the air.
“I mentioned it to him and he was completely oblivious, to be honest with you.
“He said, ‘Oh am I, oh crikey’ and kicked the tyre. I don’t get how he didn’t notice. After I mentioned it, he said ‘Thank you’ and the next thing I heard was him just revving and then he went off.
“He was completely oblivious, not so much as a thought really.
“It was so silly but I’m shocked at how oblivious he was, to be honest.”
Brandon uploaded the eyebrow-raising scene to TikTok – chalking up over half a million views.
He continued: “It’s not really what you expect.
“I’m shocked they parked there to be honest, but I was more concerned for the drivers.
“I knew they were both okay because they were both chatting and I think his wife was just eating a banana in the passenger seat.
“It’s just totally random and there is that running joke about Fiat 500 drivers.
“Everyone likes to joke about them. If I hadn’t filmed it, I don’t think people would believe it.”
Viewers flocked to poke fun at the attempt – with one viewer calling it the “worst parking fail ever”.
“He had to have a proper good look as well like it’s not obvious the wheels off the floor,” one said.
A second quipped: “Best parking I’ve seen from a Fiat 500 in fairness.”
PARKING FINE SPIKE
Around 35,000 parking fines are being slapped on motorists every day — as ministers drag their heels over promises to tackle rogue operators.
Government data revealed 9.7million tickets were issued by private companies in just nine months last year.
This means drivers will typically have been hit for £100 penalties — despite concerns over confusing signs and thuggish enforcement.
The Parking (Code of Practice) Bill was set to bring in legislation — including capping fines at £50.
But, five years after getting Royal Assent, it still has not come in due to delays and legal challenges.
Pointing to the five-year delay, the motoring research charity director Steve Gooding said: “Ministers would do well to consider how their performance looks to the many millions of drivers who’ve been issued with a ticket since the law was enacted.
“What’s needed is a swift dose of hurry-up treatment in this election year if those voters are not to be left feeling badly let down.
The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities completed a fresh call for evidence in October ahead of more consultations.
A DLUHC spokesperson said: “We remain committed to introducing the private parking code of practice to help improve the regulation of the private parking system.
“We have recently concluded a call for evidence and will consult on elements of the code in due course.
“The Government continues to work with the industry and consumer groups to reissue the code as quickly as possible.”
