‘Top of the food chain’ – Five most powerful cars you can buy for under £10,000, including ‘best-sounding’ Mercedes SUV
A MOTORS expert has revealed the six most powerful cars you can buy for under £10,000 including a Mercedes SUV.
Petrolhead Johnny Brighton, who runs CarWithJB, posted a video to his YouTube channel running down the list of high-horsepower motors that will put you “top of the food chain”.
A motors expert has revealed the most powerful cars you can buy for under £10,000[/caption]Johnny’s top picks included a stylish Range Rover and sporty Audi which would have cost upwards of £70,000 new.
However, with these models having been in production for some years, you can pick up a decent, low-mileage version for a fraction of the price.
Not only that but with speeds topping 150mph, you can easily munch up the miles with ease on a budget.
Plus you can enjoy a few creature comforts along the way thanks to the surprisingly affordable luxury specs.
Lexus LS600H
The beast from the Far East was the most expensive saloon in Japan when it first rolled off the production line.
The monster retailed at around £100,000 back in the day.
The five litre V8 engine which shift the family saloon to 60mph in just 6.1 seconds.
At the time it was the Lexus brand’s answer to the Mercedes S Class.
Johnny also praised the motor’s interior, with executive standard seats and furniture.
Audi S8
The Audi will do zero to sixty in under five seconds[/caption]The S8 also features a chunky motor under the hood. The five litre V10 takes the saloon to 60 in just 4.9 seconds.
Johnny said: “If you want a power for under £10,000 this is the car for you. This is the most ridiculous power train on the list.”
The presenter was happy with the noise the car made during acceleration.
He said: “check out exhaust note when you put foot down.”
However JB added a note of caution when he suggested the interior was now a bit dated.
He said: “It does feel a bit old in there.”
Range Rover Sport
The Range Rover was built for families that wanted more bang for their buck[/caption]Another big beast, the AMG will go from zero to 60 in just 4.8 seconds.
The Sport was pitched toward wealthier families who wanted a bit more bang for their buck.
As JB said: “For 10k you’re getting yourself a super luxurious and reasonably fast SUV for the money which in the right exterior spec doesn’t even look that old I feel like these can either look insanely dated or pretty modern and it’s all down to how the original owner spec them and how well they’ve been kept as well plus a private plate to hide the year doesn’t hurt.”
ML63 AMG
The Mercedes features a 6.2L V8 engine[/caption]JB is a huge fan of the AMG which he describes as “pretty sick for a family car.”
The motor features a 6.2L V8 which takes it to 60 in just 4.8 seconds.
He said: “Honest with you I don’t think it’s that bad looking either yes it looks quite old but the fact that it’s a bit smaller than SUVs you see today but then appears to have really oversized bumpers and the likes to make up for it really gives it a lot more appeal to me and
overall it looks a lot more focused.”
Jaguar XFR
The Jaguar XFR[/caption]Another good-looking car from the Jaguar Land Rover Group, the XFR can move too.
JB points out that the XFR is a “great-looking car.”
He points out that at zero to 60 in five seconds it’s the quickest car on the list. He added: “The exterior is quite timeless and the interior is old school.”
