Pittsfield detective honored for 41 years of service
PITTSFIELD, M.A. (NEWS10)-- Pittsfield Police Department's Detective Kim Bertelli-Hunt was recognized by the Berkshire County Kids Place on Thursday. Bertelli-Hunt was awarded the Gerard D. Downing Service to Children Award for her service to the Kids Place and the community.
Bertelli-Hunt has been a part of the Pittsfield Police Department for over 41 years and has spent the last 16 of them as a forensic interviewer. Her work has been an integral part of the department and both officers and Berkshire County Kids Place congratulated her for being honored.
Beyond her work as an officer and detective, over her four decades of service Bertelli-Hunt has served as the department's DARE officer. She began the DARE officer position early on in her law enforcement career in Pittsfield, gaining the respect of the community and officers.
