BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- Maryland safety Beau Brade is an intriguing prospect. He was a late bloomer in college and didn't get significant playing time until his junior and senior seasons but when he finally cracked the lineup, he showed the ability to make plays. Brade is effective in the pass game and he's a physical player who isn't shy about contact and stopping the run.
"I play like nobody else really," Brade said. "I'm a hard hitter. I run around. I can cover man or zone coverage. I feel like I'm a very versatile player. I can be up high or down low in the box. And I feel like I'm very knowledgeable of the game. And I take pride in that every day. So I feel like I'm second to none when I come out here. And I'm trying to prove that.
"I've got all the talent. I can run and all of that stuff. And of course, my knowledge of the game. And I think I've been proving that when I'm interviewing with the teams. And I hope they like what they see."
Brade was the Terps captain in 2023 who takes a lot of pride in being a leader. He's regarded as one of the players who helped change the culture at Maryland.
"A lot of times this day and age, people try to take the easy way and the shortcut to things," he said. "But success is done through the hard and the gritty stuff, I learned that. And I love that part of it. I also feel like that makes me different."
Brade is projected to be a second or third-round draft pick.
