Introducing Bailey! This 1-year-old pup is a fun-loving girl passionate about exploring the outdoors. Despite undergoing patella surgery, Bailey maintains a positive attitude and smile. Whether it’s a leisurely stroll or a day at the beach, Bailey is always up for an adventure. She’s even got a few tricks up her sleeve, like playing fetch (or not, it’s a mystery!). But what she loves most is snuggling up for some belly rubs. So join Bailey on her joyful journey through life — you won’t regret it! Visit the website of the Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society at berkeleyhumane.org to learn more and schedule a meeting with me.

When you think of “lap dog,” you don’t think of a canine like Vermillion. But this St. Bernard mix is truly an overgrown lap dog. This 95-pound guy is the most loving, sweet dog — and if you sit down on the ground, he may try to snuggle on your lap. As you can see, he loves to go for rides in the car. (Vermillion doesn’t have a driver’s license though, so the back seat is your best bet.) He’s good with other dogs, adores people and is just a solid, easy companion who will warm your heart as soon as you meet him. To meet Vermillion at Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter, call 510-337-8565 or visit alamedaanimalshelter.org/adopt.

Sheila is a clever herder, active and loyal. No only does she knows her commands, Sheila is both crate- and leash-trained. She’s athletic and would be a good candidate for agility training. Sheila’s good with other dogs and would love to have an active family and possibly a fur sibling. Is that you? Contact the staff at Milo Point Richmond for assistance from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. except Tuesdays at 220 S. Garrard Blvd. in Richmond. Our dedicated staff is on duty every day caring for our animals and have saved more than 39,000 lives in 28 years. For more details, visit milofoundation.org/contact-us.

Here’s another of our senior cats. As Bella’s picture shows, she was an indoor/outdoor cat, but since she came to live with one of our fosters this feline has become an indoor-loving lady. Bella has a beautiful long coat and it could use a little brushing sometimes. Oh, and she talks a lot. Her owner moved to a nursing home and hopes we can find Bella a new home. For more information about this or any other adoptable pets with the Contra Costa SPCA, call Pat at 925-323-0667.
