Maryland weather: Rain expected to let up Monday afternoon, but showers to return overnight
Showers hitting the Baltimore area on Monday morning are expected to become more isolated the afternoon before rain returns overnight.
Between a half and three-quarters of an inch of rain is forecast to fall on Baltimore’s Inner Harbor on Monday as showers, with possible thunder, continue to fall on the area until around 2 p.m., when they will become more isolated for a few hours. Scattered showers are expected to come after 9 p.m., with an 80% chance of precipitation, according to the National Weather Service.

Less than a 10th of an inch of rain is forecast to fall at night, though thunderstorms expected to start around 3 a.m. Tuesday could bring more. The thunderstorms could produce gale-force wind gusts.
Rainy days are forecast through at least Wednesday, and a 50% chance of showers is expected Thursday before a sunny weekend. There is a slight threat for severe weather later this week, with large hail, damaging wind gusts and isolated tornados possible from Tuesday into the night, according to the weather service.
Temperatures are expected to take a slight dip from Monday’s high of 60 degrees down to the mid-50s on Tuesday and through Friday.
