Hudson man to be arraigned for attempted murder, kidnapping
HUDSON, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Orlando Williams, 54, of Hudson, is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday on attempted murder and kidnapping charges. Williams faces up to 25 years in state prison and five years of post-release supervision.
According to the Columbia County District Attorney's Office, Hudson City Police received a report that Williams had attacked his ex-girlfriend on March 14. Williams allegedly threw the victim against a car, choked her, and attempted to stab her.
Williams reportedly fled the scene and was apprehended in Greene County the following day. The victim had an active order of protection against him. Williams was also indicted on the charges of unlawful imprisonment in the first degree, criminal contempt in the first degree, strangulation in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, and assault in the second degree.
