Schenectady man pleads guilty to drug conspiracy in federal court
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Andrew Deleon, 27, of Schenectady pleaded guilty to federal drug charges on Thursday, according to the Department of Justice (DOJ). He admitted to selling meth and planning to do the same with fentanyl.
The U.S. Attorney's Office described Deleon's plot: handing out the drugs he got in the mail to subordinates, who sold them. "As part of the conspiracy, Deleon distributed and possessed with the intent to distribute approximately 1,827.18 grams of pure methamphetamine and 10.68 grams of fentanyl," DOJ said.
That's roughly four pounds total. If convicted, Deleon could get up to 20 years in prison, a million-dollar fine, and a lifetime of parole.
Three others previously pleaded guilty to federal charges in this same conspiracy. They are:
- Melissa Karwan, 37, of Schenectady
- Flor Arencibia, 39, of Albany
- Stefanie Plass, 37, of Schenectady
Karwan's sentencing will be on April 26, followed by Plass on April 17, Arenciba on June 7, and Deleon on July 12.
