Investigation underway after man shot during fight at New Haven apartment
A man was hospitalized after a fight led to a shooting in New Haven early Sunday, police said.
Around 12:24 a.m. on Sunday, the New Haven Police Department said they received a 911 call about a person shot.
As officers arrived at an undisclosed location, they located a man inside the apartment suffering from gunshot wounds, police said.
According to police, there was reportedly a fight at the residence with a second person and the victim was shot during the struggle. Ballistic evidence was collected at the scene, police said.
The gunshot victim was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital where he was listed in stable condition on Sunday afternoon, according to police.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit and Bureau of Identification arrived at the scene to collect evidence, gather surveillance footage and speak to witnesses, according to police.
