What’s the best long-term solution to the problems at historic Anglin’s Pier?
Anglin’s Pier is unique in that it is one of a few privately owned piers in Florida. I remember fishing and playing on it as a kid, and I believe it helps identify Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. There is a plan in place, and it will be made public soon. The town is doing its best to move the process along as it requires several agencies permitting etc. Hopefully, in the next couple years, we will have a new Anglin’s Pier to enjoy again.
Cite two (2) specific ways in which the town should help small, family-owned businesses become more successful.
As a commissioner, I have always championed small business viability through different means. During COVID, the town relaxed codes, increased advertising and waved fees. I also have put funding in place for our merchant association to use for promotion. I believe the town and the Chamber can sponsor different training opportunies to help keep our small businesses current and modern.
