Cloudy again but little waves
Hello Friends,
There were a few sunny breaks over Dee Why at 0730 this morning. The wind report from down the coast at North Head was “calm” and the MHL buoy was registering 1.4 metres of 7-second period east wind bump. Tide was just coming off the 0650 low (it’ll be back to a 1.79 high at 1315), and there were a fair few bods in the water from Kiddies on north, and a couple at the point too. Unsurprisingly, the waves were looking very soft and weak with faces in the knee high range on sets.
Weather’s set to remain partly cloudy as we head to a high of 29 and only a 5% chance of a shower. From tomorrow we shift to on-again, off-again shower weather through to at least Christmas eve.
Outlook is for a similar set of conditions tomorrow but with potentially more NE energy in the mix. Then, from Wednesday we return to cooler showery, windy southerly conditions into the weekend at least. The south swell should build into the two metre-ish range by late in the week, so who knows, there might be the odd opportunity in a protected corner.
Go well with your Monday!
Weather Situation
A high in the Tasman Sea will strengthen during today, directing northeasterly winds along the coast. The next trough and southerly change look set to affect the southern coast Tuesday afternoon, extending through central areas overnight before weakening on the northern coast during Wednesday. Southerly winds are likely to remain dominant through the latter part of the week as a low pressure system develops over the Tasman Sea.
