I don’t pluck my unibrow or shave my body hair – I did give my armpits a glow-up but it’s controversial
A BODY positive influencer has stood up against societal expectations on women’s grooming.
She said she knows her decision to not shave is controversial but she doesn’t care.
A body positive influencer revealed she doesn’t shave her unibrow or body hair[/caption]The content creator (@the.unibrowgirl) shared the video with over 150,000 TikTok followers.
She explained she naturally has a unibrow but chooses not to shave it and maintains it as it grows out.
The same can be said for all the other hair on her body, as she lifted up her arms to reveal her armpits.
While shaving is never on the agenda, the content creator does invest in body care, as she rubbed moisturizer under her pits.
She used the moisturizer to brush her pit hairs into place to her liking.
“It’s complicated,” she said, singing along to a Lady Gaga song about her problem.
Although the body-positive influencer was happy with her choice for her body, her decisions proved to be highly controversial.
“Yes a perfect home for bacteria, you slay girl!” said one commenter sarcastically.
Others said they felt a bit traumatized after viewing: “I’m paying for everyone’s therapy,” said another.
While many were vocal about their disapproval, there were just as many supporters.
“Why y’all act like hair is so bad, it’s normal…” said one body positive viewer.
Others couldn’t help but agree with the sentiment and believed the content creator had to right to do as she pleased.
“Y’all are overreacting like on god, it’s just someone who is appreciating their body, they look like a goddess,” said one admirer.
