Rooney
Look I am going to put myself out here. I feel sorry for the guy.
We had generally found ourselves already in a poor run of form arrested by a decent win at a pretty abject Huddersfield and frankly if we hadn't received that jammy penalty against the Baggies I could have easily seen that match replicating the result tonight. I absolutely agree that the timing of sacking was awful. It was received dreadfully from fans who felt loyalty to Eustace and was awful PR for the club as a whole. It seems anyone with an interest in football was willing the Rooney decision to backfire inside and outside the club.
Then he is appointed with a run of 5 to 6 of really difficult games. I honestly think we would have seen precious difference under Eustace and in a parallel universe Facebook would tonight be awash with Eustace out posts.
The players need to take some responsibility. Are they flouncing because they have been expected to actually play some retention football or because their boss has been sacked. No-one expect maybe Dramah deserved more than a 4 out of 10 tonight. Burke was better, really? From a very low bar, I don't think he touched the ball in anger after 10 minutes. They gave up completely at 0-2, pathetic.
But, what on Earth happens now? It will be a miracle if we win any of the next 3 and there feels like there could be a battering coming up. Personally I don't see the Zola comparisons at the moment but I do see a club unfortunately imploding which is a terrible shame.
