Offset Says His Kids Are Asking Questions About Rumors That He Cheated on Cardi B
When your kids grow up in the public eye, sometimes they are exposed to things you wish they could avoid — like rumors and hateful comments. Offset recently opened up about the cheating rumors that plague him and wife Cardi B, and how his kids are affected by them.
The “Jealousy” rapper is dad to Kulture, 5, and Wave, 2, with Cardi B, as well as Jordan, 13, Kody, 8, and Kalea Marie, 8, from previous relationships. “I feel like people dive into the negativity,” Offset said about the cheating narrative that won’t die on Wednesday’s episode of Call Her Daddy podcast, per PEOPLE. “Also, I feel like there be like a hate train of people that don’t like my wife. And she does everything else to the T, so that’s the only thing you can attack. We all humans but at the end of the day, it does affect home.”
He went on to say that when people talk about his and Cardi B’s relationship negatively, it “affects the family.”
Offset added, “I got other kids with … I have other kids and I’m not with their mom and it’s like. That s–t is hard. Like as they get older, they go to ask questions. Some of the hardest s–t I went through was my kids asking me, ‘Why why why why why this and why why why why why.’ That s–t hurts you.” He went on, “That’s like another type of hurt where it’s like, ‘Oh s–t. The kids saying that s–t?’”
That would be so hard! Parenting is difficult enough without worrying about what your kids will find out about you on the internet or rumors they will hear at school. For their part, Offset and Cardi B seem to be super focused on family. The duo gifted Kulture a $25,000 Birkin bag for her fifth birthday and installed a $20,000 home playground. “I know when it comes to my kids, I give them the world,” the “Up” singer said about the playground.
Despite the fancy gifts, the kids really care about quality time. In a sweet video in May, Cardi B revealed that Kulture “loves [Offset] more [than] anybody,” over a video of her refusing to let her dad leave to catch a flight.
Family is the most important thing, and as long as Offset is honest with his kids and maintains a close bond with them, they can get through anything.
