I was tired of looking at my depressing, cluttered pantry – my cheap and easy Target upgrade made it so much better
A DIY pro has revealed how she transformed her depressing and cluttered pantry.
She said that she used a cheap and easy upgrade from Target.
TikToker Sara Miller (@saranicolmiller) showed how she was able to transform her kitchen pantry from drab to fab.
She said the DIY renovation was “cheap and easy.”
“I was getting really tired of looking at this cluttered, dressing, old pantry,” she said. “So I decided to do something about it.”
The first thing Sara did was empty the pantry.
“When everything is stacked in here I can’t see anything so I end up buying more than what I need,” she admitted.
Sara decided to paint the inside of the pantry white.
“I wanted to clean it up and make it fresh because I don’t think it’s been touched since the 1960s,” she said.
But she realized that she made a mistake while painting since she hadn’t removed the shelves.
“If I could go back, I would have taken these shelves off and then painted them because I just made it harder on myself,” she said.
“They weren’t secured in place so it was just moving while I was trying to paint and it was just a pain,” Sara admitted.
Her husband helped with the process, too.
“For some reason, there was no trim in here I finished painting and then my husband put the trim on the bottom,” the DIYer said.
The next step was to organize her kitchen items.
“I started by going through the stuff that was stale, expired,” she said. “I put the stuff that I didn’t want that was still good aside to donate.”
The last part of the process was to add acrylic bins for organization.
“I love acrylic bins because they just look so classy and I can see everything we have from the outside,” she said.
They’re functional, too.
“It also makes it easier for my toddlers to pick what they want,” Sara shared.
She said she purchased the bins from Target’s Brightroom line.
“I loved how it turned out,” the mother-of-two concluded.
