My quick, easy appetizer is a hosting staple – it’s always a crowd-pleaser, I even make it as a lazy dinner for myself
A HOME cook who loves to host said she came up with a delicious and easy appetizer for her guests.
The best part is it doubles as a lazy girl dinner meal too.
She often likes to keep things simple yet delicious and said this recipe is exactly that[/caption]While 28-year-old Morgan Yates (@morganlyates) loves to host, she doesn’t always have time to whip up an extravagant dish.
That’s why her savory crostini appetizer has become a mainstay in her kitchen.
“The question I get asked the most with hosting is, what food to make that is easy, quick, and of course a crowd-pleaser,” she began in the clip.
“This roasted tomato, basil, and burrata appetizer served with toasty crostini is all three and has become my new go-to hosting staple.”
She sliced dozens of baby tomatoes in half, threw them in a glass baking dish, added olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder on top, and mixed it all together.
Focusing on the crostini, she then cut a French baguette into small pieces and laid them out on a pan with olive oil drizzled on top.
Morgan popped both dishes into the oven at 425 degrees for 15-20 minutes, though she said to take out the bread a bit sooner.
To give the toasted bread extra flavor, she rubbed raw garlic directly onto the warm slices.
“Just do it lightly. Your guests will thank you.”
Once the tomatoes were soft and roasted, she placed them in the center of a serving dish and spread the crostini around it.
“I then topped the roasted tomatoes with creamy burrata, fresh basil, and a drizzle of olive oil and balsamic glaze.”
She said the hors d’oeuvre is sure to be a hit.
“Everyone I have served this for has asked for the recipe and it’s really that easy.”
Loving the simplicity of it all, Morgan said she has the meal in regular rotation.
“It’s perfect to serve when having friends over for cocktails, to set out for guests to snack on while I put the final touches on dinner.
“And it’s even become my lazy weeknight main course for those evenings when I’m feeling more in the mood to snack than cook a whole meal.”
Viewers were ready to give it a go.
“I know what my next part app will be,” one wrote.
“Made it and loved it,” added another.
