Abby Johnson: “Ron DeSantis is The Pro-Life President We Need”

Right now, our nation stands on the brink. It’s been a little over one year since Roe v. Wade was overturned, and we’ve seen great victories for life in many states as a result. But there is still more opportunity for continued wins in the fight for life.

While other states like California and New York have legalized abortion right up until birth, Ron DeSantis has enacted historic measures to protect children, born and unborn. Over his tenure, he has transformed the state from being an abortion sanctuary to a pro-life model for the nation, most recently signing Florida’s heartbeat bill into law in April 2023.

As a dad of three, DeSantis understands that building a culture of life doesn’t mean just limiting abortion- it means promoting fatherhood, coming alongside vulnerable mothers, protecting maternal health, and making it easier to raise a family.

Ron DeSantis created the Responsible Fatherhood Initiative, which encourages involved fatherhood in Florida through educational programs, mentorship programs, and one-on-one support. He also signed a bill to expand resources for foster parents and foster children. To support mothers in need, DeSantis expanded postpartum eligibility for Medicaid in Florida from 60 days to 12 months post-delivery. Hope Florida, an initiative spearheaded by First Lady Casey DeSantis, helps pregnant mothers, parents, and families who need assistance. And to top it all off, Florida has sweeping tax cuts that help make it easier to raise a child and support a family- he signed permanent tax exemptions for baby necessities like cribs, strollers, and diapers. He truly cares about helping Floridians, and he will truly care about helping all Americans.

Legislation aside – what makes me most confident in DeSantis is his “why” behind it all. Why are we pro-life? Because at the end of the day, we recognize that all life is an invaluable gift from God, and that He doesn’t make mistakes. We need a president who doesn’t just talk about faithand protecting life, but who really believes it and lives it out.

So, pro-life America, we have a choice to make. We can choose the man who will beat Joe Biden and restore morality in our culture. Or, we can choose to let radical leftists continue to plague society by stripping the lives of our next generation. I’ve made my decision. Ron DeSantis is the most pro-life candidate running and he will be the pro-life President that America needs.
