Child rapist who terrorised six victims in small Scots town over 20 years LOCKED UP
A CHILD rapist who terrorised six victims in a small town over 20 years is behind bars after they bravely united against him.
Beast Hugh Derby, 52, raped a 15-year-old girl before attacking five other vulnerable victims — one aged just 12 — in Auchinleck, Ayrshire.
Hugh Derby was found guilty at the High Court in Glasgow[/caption] He was remanded in custody and will be sentenced at a later date[/caption]He was finally caught when a woman who once called him “her best pal” was groped by the perv.
She opened up tearfully to a friend, who revealed the same thing had happened to her.
Four others then told cops about their ordeals at the hands of the sicko.
Derby, known as Shug, denied a raft of sex offences but was found guilty at the High Court in Glasgow.
One victim said: “He’s stalked this town preying on the vulnerable and hoping nobody would speak up.
“But with six of us there was strength in numbers. He should rot in hell.”
Derby first struck in 1999 in the town when he raped an intoxicated 15-year-old.
He then preyed on five others, most of whom were drunk and unable to consent.
One woman, attacked in 2011, woke on his couch to find him molesting her.
She told the court: “I kicked out.
“I wanted to kill him.
“I couldn’t believe he would hurt me like he hurt me.”
Another was just 12 when Derby pinned her down on a couch and assaulted her.
He groped her again aged just 15 at a Calvin Harris gig at Bellahouston Park in Glasgow in 2015.
She said: “I knew it wasn’t just me.”
Another woman was abused in a tent in Leadhills, Dumfriesshire after Derby turned up unannounced and snuck into her sleeping bag.
She said: “It’s been harrowing, gruelling and traumatic.”
Derby was on bail during the trial but was remanded in custody and faces years in jail when sentenced later.
