My daughter asked for a Chanel bag – she loved what I gave her, there’s nothing wrong with wanting nice things
A MOTHER’S young daughter asked for a Chanel bag and she gifted it because to her there’s nothing wrong with nice things.
The daughter loved the designer fashion item she received.
Luxury style lover Angel Yau (@aimereluxurycollection) is the owner of Ai Mere Luxury Collection and the parent of young children.
The brand provides accessories that are “helping luxury lovers enjoy their designer SLGs and bags multiple ways,” according to the TikTok bio.
In a video on the platform, she told viewers about how she handled the situation when her daughter asked for a Chanel bag.
The mother did gift her a Chanel bag in the end, but there was a special personal touch added to it.
“It’s not just any Chanel bag. It’s a DIY bucket bag made by me with love,” she wrote in the video caption.
She played a video of her giving her daughter the purse as she spoke in a voiceover.
“My daughter asked me for a Chanel bag the other day. My first reaction was ‘No. You’re too young and you should focus on education and having fun’,” she said.
“But I held my tongue and I thought ‘There’s nothing wrong with wanting nicer things’,” she added.
Above all, it was important for her to understand her daughter’s reasoning for wanting the bag.
“We had a chat. I then later presented her with this bucket bag and she absolutely loved it,” she explained.
Her daughter loved it not because of the Chanel logo but because her mom made it with love.
There were conflicting opinions in the comment section of the video with some even offering advice.
“God I’m a single mom with a child. It’s better to show her giving to charity as an active meaning,” one viewer commented.
“Spoiled,” another chimed in.
“It’s crazy how people will critique you when you do nice things for your kids. This was so cute! I’m sure she will remember this,” another added.
“Maybe because she saw her mom wears it and she wants it too. I use to mimic what my mom wears/do,” a TikTok user shared.
