Corrie star Nicola Thorp terrorised by ‘Grim Reaper’ stalker who threatened to abuse her in front of her parents
CORONATION Street’s Nicola Thorp has told a court how she was stalked and terrorised for two years by a maniac called The Grim Reaper.
Ravinderjit Dhillon, 30, used 25 online aliases to torment her, and said he would sexually abuse her in front of her parents.
Newspaper columnist Nicola, 34, arrived at court holding hands with actor fiance’ Rakesh Patel, before taking the stand and telling how she handed an 89-page document to the Met Police detailing the harassment she endured.
Dhillon’s warped campaign began in October 2018 when he sent her am obscene image of himself.
Nicola said: “He became an army of men all wanting to do me harm, threats to rape me.
“I’ve spent most of my adult life fighting for the rights of women and doing so in the public eye has come with some personal cost.”
“I became the target of the exact behaviour I was standing up against.”
She added: “He sent messages saying, ‘I’m going to be with you forever’, ‘I’m your grim reaper’.
“In one message he said 28 times he wasn’t going to leave me.”
She said he claimed to be “Helena” and said a friend followed her on to a train “and had got so close he could smell her”.
Dhillon, of Feltham, Middlesex, was convicted in April.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at Isleworth crown court for sentencing.
