Foodie discovers dupe to McDonald’s chicken nuggets – they’re a bargain at 9p each & the Air Fryer cooks them perfectly
THEY’RE one of McDonald’s most loved snacks, and now one foodie has shared how she’s found the perfect dupe for the fast food giant’s chicken nuggets.
TikTok user Charlotte Cooks said she’d heard some buzz about nuggets on sale at the increasingly popular retailer The Company Shop.
So Charlotte, who can be found at @charlotte_mum_cooks, decided to get her hands on a bag and try them out for herself.
The keen cook and foodie headed to her local The Company Shop – the UK’s leading redistributor of surplus food and household products.
While on her shopping trip at the store where you need a membership to bag amazing bargains from well-known brands, she got lucky and purchased a 1KG bag of frozen chicken nuggets for £4.50.
Each 1KG bag has approximately 50 chicken nuggets inside, which amounts to around 9p for each piece.
And Charlotte couldn’t wait to tuck in and see what all the fuss was about, using her Air Fryer to cook them to perfection.
In the video taken when she returned home, Charlotte said: “It is rumoured that these nuggets from The Company Shop are the same as McDonald’s nuggets.
“I don’t know if that’s entirely true but, I mean, they certainly look it.
“So I’m going to try them out.”
The footage then cut to Charlotte using her Air Fryer to cook five of the nuggets.
Once they were “looking good and crispy”, Charlotte opened the kitchen appliance and plated them up so she could begin her taste test.
She served them alongside a McDonald’s BBQ sauce and was quick to give her review.
Charlotte told her 2000 plus followers: “Let’s give them a go.”
After her first bite, Charlotte was blown away and said: “It’s a McDonald’s nugget!”
In another video posted to her account, titled McDonald’s Dupe part 2, she was quick to big up the nuggets once more.
She said that they not only looked like the real deal, but they also tasted like them.
Charlotte added: “They’re absolutely delicious!”
Her fellow social media followers and fast food fans were also quick to comment on the video, which racked up over 100k likes.
One wrote: “OMG I need.” Another said: “I would do anything for you to ship my a bag.”
