Rain arriving
Hello Friends,
Not the greatest combo. Gloomy and rainy skies with almost no swell showing. Dee Why was smooth before 0800, but waves were struggling to make thigh high on the sets. There were a few stalwarts up the beach toward the pole where it appeared to be even smaller.
Wind was light NW, but that should gradually swing to the NE as the day goes along. Swell at sea was ESE and a metre at 9 seconds apart. Tide is dropping to low at 1100 and will then come back into the modest high at 1645.
The models aren’t hopeful for any significant improvement to conditions today but maybe tomorrow the period will stretch out a bit and there could be a waist plus to be found at places with decent banks. Wind’s set to be SSW all day Tuesday, so that’s making it the pick day for the rest of the week according to the models.

Weather Situation
A ridge of high pressure extends towards the northern New South Wales coast while a slow-moving trough is bringing southerly winds to the southern coast. This trough will reach central parts of the coast on Monday and then stall, possibly forming a low pressure system on Tuesday. This low is forecast to move away to the southeast and decay on Wednesday, with southerly winds turning northerly on Thursday as a ridge of high pressure develops.
