The soon-to-be reality TV star admitted that he and Marcus, 25, were “in the same class” back in their school days.
Ahead of his villa debut, Kai admitted he had not one but TWO claims to fame, including the England player.
“My cousin Dean was in Coronation Street, and I went to school with Marcus Rashford,” he said. “We were in the same class.”
“The school I went to was sponsored by Manchester United. I had so many experience because of that.”
Kai has also played on the sporting field himself, as the Jamaican citizen revealed he played for his country.
“I played rugby 7s for Jamaica, and I play semi-professional rugby now for Burnage RFC,” Kai explained.
It comes after the buff rugby player already changed his social media profile to his Love Island snap and written: “I’m off to find love in the @loveisland villa. See you soon!”
Ahead of his show debut, he admitted he could be hard to please and explained he had high standards.
He said: “I’m single by choice. I’m looking for the right girl. I feel like I have quite high expectations.
“I don’t feel I should commit to someone unless I’m absolutely buzzing over them, because it’s not fair on them.”
He joins the franchise’s first ever partially-sighted contestant – Ron Hall, 26, payroll administrator Anna-May Robey, 20, and farmer Will Young, 23.
Other names confirmed include make-up artist Lana Jenkins, 25, and biomedical science student Tanya Manhenga, 22.
Her confirmation as a contestant comes after new host Maya Jama touched down in South Africa over the weekend ready for the January 16 launch night.
Temperatures will soar to the 30 degree mark as the contestants trade chilly Britain for hotter climes.
Love Island bosses have scrapped the previous villa for this series and are putting the stars up in a luxury manor house.
The sprawling mansion is set in millionaire’s row in South Africa and features an enormous swimming pool and even the traditional fire-pit.
