I was escorted off flight by police for my ‘inappropriate’ outfit – I’m plus-size & was wearing crop top, people are mad
A WOMAN has claimed that her crop-top ensemble got her booted off her Alaska Airlines flight, with police officers questioning her after the incident.
Upset social media users are pointing out that she may have faced discrimination due to being plus-size.
“I was escorted off the plane by police tonight, how’s your night going?” rapper and hair stylist Gina, who goes by @fattrophywife on social media, wrote in a TikTok video.
“@Alaska Airlines Flight attendant harassed and called the airport police on me for my inappropriate outfit,” she added in her video’s caption.
In the clip, Gina could be seen sitting at a wooden table in a room.
She recorded an interaction in which she was questioned by one of the police officers that apparently escorted her off the plane.

She sported the offending outfit in question, which consisted of a purple animal print crop top.
“So what happened on the flight?” the officer asked.
“I was harassed about my outfit,” Gina said. “I put my shirt back on,” she explained.
“So you did have it off at some point?” the cop clarified.
“Yeah, I [had this sports bra] on. They asked me to put my shirt on. [I] put the shirt back on, and then they approached me again.
“Saying that I can’t wear this, my stomach is showing, and it’s inappropriate. And I said I’m covered up, I’m fine, and she just kept going.
“And I said if you’re going to kick me off, then kick me off. I’ve done what you’ve asked me to do. I want you to leave me alone.
“That was the third time they approached me about my outfit. About wearing this outfit. That’s why you were called, because of this,” Gina stressed.
The police officer responded: “You’re not in any criminal trouble, nothing like that.
“We’re just trying to get your side of the story versus what they’re saying okay. Nothing criminal. They have policies for dress-code.”
“I looked at the policy,” Gina interjected.
The officer continued: “I hear your side of the story, but they have their policies and stuff they have to follow,” he explained.
Upset, Gina continued to stress that she did in fact follow the policy, even looking it up like she was asked to. She asserted that she was within the dress code.
The officer assured Gina that when he was done talking to her the supervisor would also speak to her and get her side of the story.
“I’m being harassed and now I’m being detained,” Gina said in response.
The officer explained that they simply wanted to talk to her, and that she wasn’t being detained.
“You guys come and pull me off the plane in front of my child, that’s detained,” Gina said.
“We’re just trying to investigate and see if there were any crimes that did occur. From what I am gathering, there were not,” the officer said.
“I wore an outfit, that’s what happened,” Gina retorted.
“And that’s all I’m trying to determine,” the officer said.
The events that took place did not sit right with viewers in the comments section of Gina’s video.
Many were on her side, like one commenter who wrote: “[The officer] sounds so nervous because he knows they were wrong.”
Others encouraged Gina to take the matter to court.
“LAWSUIT!!!! And they’re 100 percent losing,” one person said.
‘”If this is not a rule or policy of the airline then you can one thousand percent sue them for discrimination,” added a second.
A few people suggested that Gina was simply targeted for being plus-size.
“But if a size two wears the same thing, not one person blinks an eye!!!” someone exclaimed.
“I’m so sorry. It’s a shame because I have seen girls that are different sizes wearing literally the same thing. It’s bull shrimp.”
“And people say fat-phobia doesn’t exist.”
“It’s just because of your size. If you were a size eight they wouldn’t say anything,” a final person said.
