SANTA CLARA – A suspicious package spurred the evacuation of a business and the closure of a road Tuesday in Santa Clara.
Officers were called to a business in the 2400 block of Kiefer Road around 11:15 a.m. for a report of a suspicious package, the Santa Clara Police Department said in an advisory.
Police said the package “caused enough concern” to warrant a call to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad. As of 2:55 p.m., the bomb squad was at the scene and evaluating the package.
The business was evacuated and Kiefer Road was closed between Bowers Avenue and Uranium Drive.
