ONE of the killers of honeymooner Anni Dewani has visited where her body was dumped — to say sorry.
Zola Tongo paid his respects on her murder’s 12th anniversary and said: “What I did breaks my heart.”He hired two gunmen to kill Anni in his taxi in Cape Town, South Africa, in 2010 — claiming her husband, British care home boss Shrien Dewani, was behind the plot[/caption]
Tongo — on parole after serving half his 18-year jail term — wept: “Coming here for the first time has allowed me to acknowledge the damage I caused.
“It’s in my mind every day. I want to tell her father, I’m really sorry for my involvement in taking his daughter’s life.
“I hope he will have a long life and find peace.

“I’m trying to take responsibility for my crime and not forget the damage I caused to Anni’s family.
“Even if I’m moving forward with my life, this day will always remind me: remember what you did, Zola.
“Stay in your lane and do things right.”
Dewani’s trial collapsed in 2014.
