Hayward: Fatal shooting victim identified
HAYWARD — A man killed in an Aug. 21 shooting was identified by police Wednesday as Nicholas Moriwaki, 18, of Hayward.
A motive for the killing has not yet been released and no arrests have been announced by police.
Moriwaki was found about 9:52 p.m. Aug. 21 inside a vehicle that had crashed into some parked vehicles in the 2500 block of Oliver Drive, a mainly residential area.
He had been shot multiple times; paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police said another person who had been inside the vehicle with Moriwaki was found in the area uninjured. That person’s age and relationship to Moriwaki were not released.
