After playing exclusively in theaters for two months, "Thor: Love and Thunder" is coming to Disney Plus on September 8. The movie's streaming debut is part of the service's Disney Plus Day celebration.
"Love and Thunder" picks up after the events of "Avengers: Endgame," as Thor teams up with some familiar faces to battle a brand-new foe. King Valkyrie, Korg, and Thor's ex-girlfriend Jane Foster band together to fight Gorr, the God Butcher.

Chris Hemsworth is back to play Thor, alongside returning cast members from other Thor movies, including Tessa Thompson, Natalie Portman, and Taika Waititi. "Thor: Love and Thunder" is also directed by Waititi, making it the second Thor film he's helmed, following "Thor: Ragnarok."

How to watch 'Thor: Love and Thunder'
"Thor: Love and Thunder" will be available to watch on Disney Plus starting September 8. Subscribers will be able to stream the movie in up to 4K resolution with Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos audio on compatible TVs and sound systems.
Disney Plus costs $8 a month or $80 a year, making it one of the more affordable streaming services on the market. Starting December 8, however, ad-free Disney Plus subscriptions will go up to $11 a month.
Disney Plus can be streamed via web browser or the Disney Plus app on most smart TVs, streaming players, or mobile devices.
When will 'Thor: Love and Thunder' be available to rent or buy?
Though no official date has been announced, it's likely that "Thor: Love and Thunder" will hit digital retailers on September 8 at the same time it debuts on Disney Plus. At the very latest, we expect the movie to become available to rent or purchase digitally by September 27, which is when the film hits Blu-ray.
Once digital rentals and purchases launch, the movie should be available through all major retailers, including Prime Video, Apple TV, and Vudu. Streaming rentals and purchases don't require a subscription and instead carry a one-time fee.
When will 'Thor: Love and Thunder' be available on Blu-ray?
"Thor: Love and Thunder" comes out on Blu-ray on September 27 and is available for preorder now. The 4K UHD Blu-ray comes with a digital copy of the film and costs $30.
Is 'Thor: Love and Thunder' worth watching?
"Thor: Love and Thunder" currently holds a "65% Fresh" rating on the review-aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes. The overall critic consensus finds the movie to be a bit lacking compared to the impressive feats of "Thor: Ragnarok," but it's still a worthwhile addition to the MCU. Stylish, funny, and exciting, the film should please Thor lovers and fans of Waititi's other directorial work.
