Re: 13 years ago ….
Here’s another from Karren Brady dated August, 2007. Seems quite ironic now with the Commonwealth Games having been and gone in Perry Barr!
Would you like to see a City of Birmingham Stadium?
We’re asking you to show your backing for the project by signing a petition on the 10 Downing Street website by clicking here [petitions.pm.gov.uk] and entering your details.
Please note that everybody who signs the petition must confirm their vote via a link emailed to them before their name will be recorded on it.
The petition reads: 'We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to encourage Birmingham City Council to help fund and build a new stadium and sports development for the City of Birmingham'
We want to bring the City of Birmingham Stadium to the attention of the Prime Minister. The stadium will bring not only a first class sporting arena to the city, but also create much needed jobs, homes and facilities. We are asking for the people of Birmingham to come together to support this fantastic opportunity to really put Birmingham on the map. Birmingham is the youngest city in Europe, with the least for young people to do; this project will bring the young people of the city together in a place where they can live, work and play in harmony.
So whether you're a Blues supporter or just somebody who believes that Britain's second city deserves a sporting arena of which they can be rightfully proud, please get signing today and also encourage your friends, relatives and workmates to do the same.
Thank you for your support
