Coleen, 36, has previously revealed tensions in their marriage and how she was so homesick living in America she often cried herself to sleep.
She is expected to stay in England with their four children and has suggested a close relative — likely to be her brother Anthony McLoughlin — should keep an eye on Rooney.
Anthony played a similar role three years ago. A security staff member is also likely to join Wayne.

A pal said: “Wayne has assured Coleen he won’t let her down. Things are different to when he was a player and he needs to lead by example on and off the field so he won’t be slipping back into bad habits. But Coleen is still worried.
“Although she trusts Wayne she knows he can be easily led which is why she’d like her brother or one of Wayne’s brothers to be out there too to keep an eye on him. It would make Coleen feel a lot happier.
“It’s something they did before. It helped to keep her up to date with what was going on, and Coleen wants to keep a close eye on him.”
The friend added: “Wayne is really excited about the new job. Unlike Coleen, he loved his time in America and he built up a great relationship with US footie fans.

Sources close to Coleen and Roo say the move was made “with her full blessing”. They added: “She knows this is a big opportunity for them.”
The couple married in 2008 and have four sons — Kai, 12, Klay, nine, Kit, six, and Cass, four. But they found life difficult when they moved to Washington DC in June 2018.
Rooney was arrested that December for being drunk at Dulles airport.
In February 2019, he had a boozy night out with a barmaid in Florida.

His behaviour is understood to have been the trigger for Coleen, pictured leaving the gym yesterday, demanding he return home in 2019.
