UPDATE: Thurs 8th July – Round 7
Oh boy not the wins we were hoping for, but none the less exciting chess from all players! With the two wins coming on the bottom boards, the top of the standings stay the same with FM Murad Abdulla still leading the way by a ½ point with two rounds to go! A bit closer than the candidates tournament, but the same kind of tactics which will suit Abdulla to a tee? The rest are playing catch up with only two rounds to do it in!
FM Keith Ruxton under intense pressure from FM Murad Abdulla managed to defend gallantly to hold the draw!
FM Andrew Burnett could not get the win he wanted against the inform Lennart Koehn who played well. In the end both players will be happy to still be in contention, maybe Andrew more!
Someone needs to either win against Abdulla, or if he draws, win their match to give them a chance! Squeaky bum time, or as Elvis would sing “It` now or never”! But then again players can have doubts and “Suspicious Mind’s” and end up in “Heartbreak Hotel”! Oh it’s going to be a good finish and I am, “All Shock Up”!
Oh apologies for that Rock and Roll shocker, there is only one thing left to say, “Noble has left the building”!
