I’m a DIY pro – my simple tip means you’ll never sand your walls after filling in holes again & it takes just seconds
GETTING DIY projects done at home using smart hacks for affordable prices will save you tons of time and money.
One of the most common issues renters and homeowners deal with are holes in the wall that need to be filled in and sanded down.
TikToker and DIY expert Megan Cox posted a video highlighting one of the best remodeling hacks she thinks that other people might be curious to try.
She says: “I had to putty a lot [of holes]!”
She pans her camera around her room showcasing countless sections on the wall covered in white putty streaks.
She then holds up a rag that’s been dipped in warm water and begins rubbing over the white putty streaks.

The more she rubs, the more you can see the excess putty start disappearing.
The holes all remain filled, but the messy discoloration surrounding each hole gets wiped away.
According to Megan, she’ll no longer need to go through the sanding process now that she’s figured out this smart hack.
The sanding process can take a long time and requires a lot of energy and physical effort.

Megan used a dampened rag in her video, but several people in her comment section suggest using a sponge instead.
The reason using a sponge might be better is that it can help avoid bubbling paint problems after using putty.
