Marin deputy arrests driver with drugs, weapons
An Oakland man was arrested near Marin City after a search of his car revealed a trove of drugs and weapons, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office said.
Sgt. Brenton Schneider said a deputy conducted a traffic stop for vehicle violations at about 9:45 p.m. Thursday. on southbound Highway 101 The deputy spoke with the driver and searched the vehicle.
The search revealed suspected cocaine, machetes, a collapsible baton, baggies, cash, cellphones and a bat, Schneider said.
Harbin Yahir Ramos Andino, 18, was booked into the Marin County Jail on suspicion of possession of cocaine for sale, transportation of a controlled substance for sale, possession of a leaded cane, possession of an open container and giving false identification to a peace officer. He was released on bail pending a review by prosecutors.
