America has an education crisis
There are 567,000 fewer teachers in the U.S. since the pandemic began, but the spread of COVID-19 exacerbated an existing problem. Incentives for education professionals are dwindling as they face daily challenges of low pay, high stress and increasing restrictions on how to teach topics of race and gender. Public school districts across the country are experiencing major staff shortages and the next generation could pay the price for a crisis that the nation is failing to address.
