If you're an Amazon Prime member, one of the many benefits you get is access to a vast array of streaming titles through Prime Video. The lineup includes a slew of originals, TV series, and movies of different genres, including horror.

Fans of spooky flicks and gory thrillers have plenty to check out. Prime Video subscribers can find both modern hits and cult classics ready to watch — just make sure to filter by "Free to me" to see what's already part of your membership.

If you're not already a member, Prime Video is available on its own for $9 a month. It's also included with a full Amazon Prime membership for $15 a month or $139 a year.

To help you find a scary flick worth streaming, we highlighted some of the best horror movies on Amazon Prime Video. Our list covers a variety of horror subgenres and focuses on well-reviewed titles that have at least a "60% Fresh" rating from the review-aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes

However, it's important to remember that Prime Video frequently refreshes its library, so some titles may be removed in the future. We'll keep this article updated with new picks based on the service's rotating catalog.

Here are the best horror movies on Amazon Prime Video

'Train to Busan'
"Train to Busan" stars actor from "Squid Game" Gong Yoo.

Though it may look like yet another zombie flick on the surface, "Train to Busan" is widely acclaimed for being a unique take on the genre with excellent action scenes and thought-provoking social commentary. The Korean horror film stars Gong Yoo, Ma Dong-Seok, and Jung Yu-Mi, and is directed by Yeon Sang-Ho.

It's revered by many as a must-watch scary movie, and it shows from its "94% Certified Fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

'Carrie'

Stephen King's "Carrie" (1976) shows what happens when you push a vulnerable teenager too far. Sissy Spacek plays the quiet and shy Carrie, a high schooler with telekinetic abilities who is being bullied by her classmates. Mocked for her creepy house, strange mother, and unnerving presence, she finds herself vying for nothing but acceptance during her tumultuous teenage years.

The film is critically acclaimed and widely recognized as one of King's best novel-to-film adaptations. "Carrie" has a "93% Certified Fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

'The Sixth Sense'
Haley Joel Osment and Bruce Willis in the 1999 film "The Sixth Sense."

Whether you're a fan of horror or not, you've probably heard of M. Night Shyamalan's "The Sixth Sense." It stars Haley Joel Osment as a troubled young boy with an unusual problem: he sees dead people.

The film established Shyamalan as a noteworthy director in American cinema with a penchant for plot twists. "The Sixth Sense" has an "86% Certified Fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

'Suspiria'

"Suspiria" is inspired by the 1977 film of the same name. Directed by Luca Guadagnino, the 2018 supernatural horror movie stars Dakota Johnson as an aspiring dancer who gets taken in by the Markos Dance Company — a troupe surrounded by an air of dark mystery.

The film builds suspense slowly over its 153 minutes, resulting in a powerfully tense and disturbing watch that may not be for everyone. "Suspiria" received a 65% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

'Sharknado'

Where horror, comedy, action, and disaster collide, you'll find "Sharknado." This wild concept of a film has expanded into a franchise with multiple movies, video games, and even comics. Plot-wise, it's exactly as the name suggests: an unexpected cyclone sweeps up some sharks from the ocean and tosses them across Los Angeles, resulting in action and chaos.

Originally released on the SyFy channel, "Sharknado" was directed by Anthony C. Ferrante and stars Ian Ziering and Tara Reid. It received a 74% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

'The Taking of Deborah Logan'

"The Taking of Deborah Logan" is a found-footage horror movie that takes the form of a student documentary. Jill Larson stars as Deborah Logan, a woman with Alzheimer's disease who serves as a research subject. When Deborah starts exhibiting mysteriously supernatural symptoms outside of the disease's purview, the student crew begins to get uneasy.

The 2014 film earned a 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

'Hellraiser'

"Hellraiser" is a cult classic that has achieved enough mainstream success to receive nine sequels since its release in 1987. At this point, you don't need to even be a horror buff to know Pinhead. Directed by Clive Barker and starring Clare Higgins, Andrew Robinson, and Ashley Laurence, it's an iconic classic with its fair share of gore, drama, and suspense.

Critics also give the movie solid marks, resulting in a 72% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

'Oculus'

Karen Gillan stars as Kaylie Russell in this supernatural horror movie directed by Mike Flannagan ("The Haunting of Hill House"). When her brother is convicted of murder, Kaylie desperately tries to prove that he's innocent, and that the source of her family's misfortune is in fact caused by an antique mirror.

More than just supernatural, "Oculus" is also a psychological thriller that jumps between time periods to fully encapsulate the characters' lives leading up to this point. It received a "75% Certified Fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

'Piranha'

A B-movie from 1978, "Piranha" is a comedy-horror flick directed by Joe Dante, starring Bradford Dillman, Heather Menzies, and Kevin McCarthy. When man-eating fish start terrorizing an otherwise peaceful resort river town, chaos ensues and the military gets involved to try and neutralize the threat.

It's a fun, self-aware watch that received a 69% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
