Chelsea, Man Utd target pushed towards exit door – but Arsenal now want him
Arsenal are interested in signing Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix as he is being pushed towards the exit door, it’s been reported.
Since making his remarkable £114m move from Benfica in 2019, Felix has struggled to continue his rise in La Liga. His relationship with manager Diego Simeone has grown increasingly strained.
Neither party seem to want to continue with the failed experiment any longer. It is arguably doing them both more harm than good.
As such, it looks like the 22-year-old, who has previously been linked to Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool, could be on the move this summer.
And journalist Eduardo Inda has revealed that has caught the attention of the Gunners, who are in need of attacking reinforcements this summer.
“Joao Félix is a very good player. Arsenal want him,” Inda told El Chiringuito (via Sport Witness).
“Simeone, if he continues, wants to bring in Guedes. His objective is to change Joao Félix for Guedes.

“The problem Atletico have is that he cost €120m, and getting him back is something that can only be done if he is sold to the Premier League.”
Whether Arsenal would be prepared to stump up the probable asking fee is up for debate. Felix still has four years left on his Atletico contract.
With the Spanish club looking to recoup as much of their investment as possible, it could prove to be too much.
The Portugal international isn’t exactly a reliable purchase either. He has scored just 23 goals in 100 appearances under Simeone.
It seems there could well be cheaper options who have better returns available, such as fellow target Alexander Isak.
Arsenal threat for Tierney doubles
Meanwhile, Arsenal have seen the threat for Kieran Tierney double as Barcelona have reportedly joined rivals Real Madrid in the hunt.
It shockingly emerged earlier this month that Real had shortlisted the left-back as a potential target.
Now cash-strapped Barcelona have also taken a liking to him. That’s according to Cule Mania.
The Catalan giants view Tierney, 24, as a possible replacement for Jordi Alba.
But with Barca president Joan Laporta focusing on signing Erling Haaland this summer, it seems very unlikely that they would make an offer to the Gunners.
Tierney is firmly established in Mikel Arteta’s defence. And he should remain there unless Real decide to cough up the fee required.
