Dancing On Ice fans accuse the show of being a fix as Arlene Phillips gives the first 10 to Strictly pal Brendan Cole
DANCING ON ICE viewers accused the show of being a fix after guest judge Arlene Phillips gave pal Brendan Cole a high score.
Brendan’s routine on the musical week special saw him partner with Brendyn Hatfield while regular partner Vanessa Bauer recovers from covid.
Brendan and Brendyn performed on the ice rink to Beggin’ from Jersey Boys.
Guest judge Arlene Phillips scored them the first 10 points of the series, while resident head judges Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean both opted for a slightly lower 9.5 out of a possible 10.
After their show-stopping display, Arlene told the men: “Jersey Boys is all about accuracy, that choreography has to be identical… they were spot on.
“I thought I was seeing double. As far as I was concerned they hit perfection tonight.”
Arlene and Brendan have a history of starring together on primetime TV competitions after the pair both featured in early years of Strictly Come Dancing.
Brendan served as a long-running professional dancer, while Arlene Phillips was on the judging panel from 2004 to 2008.
One viewer tweeted: “Arlene mentions Regan’s slip but not Brendan… funny that!”

Another put: “As soon as Brendan came on I knew Arlene would give him a 10.”
A third viewer commented: “10 for Brendan was obvious from Arlene. What a joke, picks up everyone else’s wobbles but not his. #Fix.”
