Nicolas Cage is expecting a baby with wife Riko Shibata, who is THIRTY years younger than the star
CONGRATS are in order for Nicolas Cage and Riko Shibata, who are expecting baby No. 1 together!
The A-lister and his fifth wife are having their first baby, as a rep exclusively confirmed to PEOPLE.
This is Nicolas’ third child as he welcomed sons Ka-El Coppola, 16, and Weston Coppola, 31, from previous relationships.
“The parents-to-be are elated!” the rep said.
Nicolas, 57, tied the knot with Riko on on February 16, 2021 in a “very small and intimate wedding at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas,” according to a rep for Cage.
The date was chosen as it was special to Nic – it was his late father, August Coppola’s, birthday.
“It’s true, and we are very happy,” Nic told PEOPLE in a statement at the time.
Riko is 27, four years younger than Nicolas’ eldest son. The pair has not made a statement yet.

NICOLAS AND RIKO’S LOVE
The starry-eyed couple met in Shiga, Japan, in 2020 through mutual friends.
The actor was there filming the movie Prisoners of the Ghostland.
They made their magazine cover debut as a couple when they posed for FLAUNT in October 2021.
The next month, the pair walked the red carpet at the 2021 GQ Men of the Year party in West Hollywood, California.
Riko is also an actress, and the pair made their official red carpet debut in July 2021 at the premiere of Cage’s film Pig.
Nic announced the engagement on his brother Marc Coppola’s radio show in 2020, after Riko had just visited New York with him.
“She left New York and went back to Kyoto, Japan, and I went back to Nevada and I haven’t seen her for six months,” he said.
“We’re really happy together and we’re really excited to spend that time together so I finally just said ‘Look, I wanna marry you’ and we got engaged on FaceTime.”
They were first spotted together in February of 2020 when he took her to New Orleans to visit the tomb he famously purchased for himself a decade earlier.
THEIR ‘POETIC’ JAPAN WEDDING
Riko wore a wore a handmade Japanese Bridal Kimono from Kyoto to her 2021 wedding.
She walked the aisle to Winter Song by Kiroro, which is reportedly her favorite song.
Nic wore a Tom Ford tuxedo according to PEOPLE and the couple exchanged traditional Catholic and Shinto vows with poetry.
Poems by Walt Whitman and a Haiku were also included in the ceremony.
After the wedding, the blissful couple headed to a small gathering at the home of Nicolas’ ex-wife, Alice Kim, whom he remains very good friends with.
Their son Kal-El, 15, also attended.
NIC’S CAGEY PAST
Nic was married to Alice Kim from 2004 to 2016; she is the mother of his youngest son Kal-El.
Nicolas has been married four times before – including to Oscar winner Patricia Arquette from 1995 to 2001.
He also tied the knot with Elvis Presley’s daughter Lisa Marie Presley, but they divorced after two years.
Nicolas was also married for just a few days in 2019 to Erika Koike.
He shares his eldest Weston with a woman named Christina Fulton but they never married.
Riko took her husband’s last name – and now is legally Riko Cage.
