Ruth Langsford reveals she’s still on This Morning and Loose Women despite husband Eamonn Holmes quitting ITV
RUTH Langsford has revealed that she will continue on with This Morning and Loose Women despite her husband quitting ITV.
Presenter Eamonn Holmes revelead he was stepping back from the much-loved morning show to take up a new role on his own segment of GB News.
Ruth, 61, opened up about how she was “thrilled” for her other half over his new breakfast show role, and confirmed it wouldn’t stop her from her ITV appearances.
She confirmed to Best Magazine about her ongoing role: “I’m still at ITV, with This Morning and Loose Women.”
The TV star went on to heap praise on Eamonn, 62 – who has already started his new role on Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel alongside Isabel Webster.
“I’m thrilled,” Ruth continued. “It’s what he does best. He’s always been very entertaining on This Morning – Eamonn can turn his hand to anything.
“He’s a total news junkie. I’m very proud of him. Yes, no more This Morning together – but it doesn’t mean there aren’t other projects we can do together.”
It comes after This Morning were forced to release a statement confirming Ruth would be staying on the show after fans panicked about the possibility of her exit.
A spokesperson insisted she would “remain an important member of the This Morning family” despite Eamonn’s departure.
A spokeswoman for ITV said of Ruth, who also hosts Loose Women: “We would like to wish Eamonn all of the very best in his new role.
“As a duo, Eamonn and Ruth have been part of the This Morning presenting team for the last 15 years and we thank Eamonn for all of his hard work and contribution to the show.
“Ruth remains an important part of ITV Daytime both as a continuing member of the This Morning family and as an anchor presenter on Loose Women.”

Eamonn, 62, revealed in November he was joining the GB News channel.
The daytime telly legend’s presenting career began on GMTV in 1993 where he stayed until 2005 when he joined Sky News Sunrise for 11 years.
As well as his role on This Morning, Eamonn and Ruth have hosted their own show How The Other Half Lives.
Eamonn made his breakfast TV debut on GB News earlier this week, reuniting with his former Sky News Sunrise co-host Isabel Webster to wake up the nation.
Starting the New Year off with a bang, Eamonn is back to setting 2.45am alarm calls ahead of a 3.15am taxi pick-up.
As Isabel said it was good to be back together again, Eamonn joked: “Everything’s good except getting back up at this time.
“But what makes it worthwhile is knowing you guys are out there and we’re getting lovely messages from people all over the country looking forward to whatever we’re going to do differently.”

He famously presented daytime show This Morning with his wife Ruth Langsford, hosting on Fridays and during holidays, for 15 years.
