Capital’s Aimee Vivian reveals who she’s going to ‘fangirl’ over at Jingle Bell Ball & says Jesy Nelson will ‘bring it’
CAPITAL Radio’s Aimee Vivian has interviewed some of the biggest music stars in the industry – but there is one popstar who will have her majorly “fangirling” at the Jingle Bell Ball this weekend.
The presenter said that Canadian superstar Justin Bieber, 27, will blow the audience away as he headlines night one, which kicks off tomorrow.
Aimee also teased that that former Little Mix star Jesy Nelson, 30, is going to “bring it” for her first live solo arena performance.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Aimee said: “I’d be lying if I said ‘I’m not looking forward to Justin Bieber, he really is a world class performer.
“There are not many people who can do what Justin Bieber does. He is so incredibly talented – that being said I’m going to fangirl hard when he’s on stage.”
She continued: “It’s actually going to be her [Jesy Nelson’s] first solo live arena performance, you know someone like Jesy is going to bring it.
“She would have been rehearsing hard for this.
“It’s great to see her go, you know what I’m not in Little Mix anymore but here’s what I do on my own.”

Bad Habits singer Ed Sheeran will also be performing live on stage on the second day.
The Shape of You star and Elton John’s festive song Merry Christmas has already debuted at number one and is on track to scooping this year’s Christmas number one.
“Ed better perform his Christmas single, I haven’t seen his set list but I imagine if he’s coming to Jingle Bell Ball, the biggest Christmas party then you want him to do his new Christmas song,” Aimee said.
“It is our official number one – I think it will stay at number one now.
“They knew what they were doing. I actually said the other day, that Ed Sheeran and Elton John’s song is going to be what Slade is for us to our generation in 40 years. It will be the song that just sticks around.”
Aimee explained that Jingle Bell Ball is the perfect opportunity for new stars to showcase their talent in front of thousands of people.
“I’m so excited seeing people like Mimi Webb down there and Griff down there – it’s going to be their first ever time performing in the 02 arena, in such a lively atmosphere,” she said.
“I think we’re lucky to have such amazing emerging new artists on our line-up.”
Aimee – who joked that Will.i.am is the “craziest” person she’s interviewed – said that she’s fortunate to be chatting to some big names this weekend.
The star said: “Sometimes I sit there and think how am I doing this, this is mad. I can’t imagine doing anything else, I don’t know what else I would do if I didn’t do radio.
“I feel very fortunate that I get to live my dream every day.”
But it’s not all been plain sailing, Aimee admitted that she came close to giving up her dream of being radio presenter when she was younger.
“Don’t give up – never be anyone but you because you are the best version of yourself because no one else can do that. I can only be Aimee Vivian because that’s who I am,” she said.
“Being yourself is the best version of yourself you’re going to give forward and you’re going to give a more natural representation of yourself and you’re going to relate to people a lot more because you are being true to who you are.”
She added: “Dreams do come true but you also have to work hard for it. I came back from Uni and volunteered at my local radio station for three years, unpaid.
“I was so close to giving up and literally three months later Capital came knocking on the door.”
Don’t give up – never be anyone but you because you are the best version of yourself.

The radio presenter is also hoping to appear on our TV screens next year as she takes on new projects.
“Next year I’ve got a few things up my sleeve. Hopefully I might be popping up on TV, that’s the plan for next year to get myself out there a bit more,” she explained.
“Radio will always be my number one but I’m hoping that I can get out there and do a bit more about my personal interests like being gluten free.”
Aimee said she is buzzing for the weekend and even revealed that she had a wardrobe “meltdown” – but has now settled on two stunning outfits for the weekend with extra sparkles and sequins.
She added: “We’ve waited for this for two years and there is such a special atmosphere every single ball that we do, but Jingle Bell Ball especially.
“There is something special that live music does, after all these years of doing the show, I don’t think you can truly put it into words.
“It unites everybody, no matter who you are, where you’re from and what you do.
“It’s a moment of normality, there is nothing but euphoria at the ball.”
