Alissa Humphrey perfect again in USA’s four-inning victory over Netherlands
Alissa Humphrey retired the 12 batters she faced in today’s USA win over the Netherlands, 10-0, at the WBSC U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup. USA used two five-run innings to secure the win in four frames.
Humphrey delivered 52 pitches to complete the game, with four strikeouts. It was her second four-inning perfect game, after the opening day win over Czech Republic.
Third baseman Erin Coffel went 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI, and Kinsey Fiedler added two hits and two runs scored to lead the US 10-hit offense.
The Dutch defense committed six errors in the game. The loss was charged to Lisa Brink in one inning of work. She was relieved by Lauren Heijnsdijk and Nienke Weis.
USA remains undefeated after five games, while the Netherlands dropped their record to 0-4.
