OT: To Mask or Not to Mask, That is the Question
Sorry if this is a bit off-topic, but I was curious if people are actually wearing masks inside Staples Center during the game? It was kind of a mask-themed weekend and that theme continued today at the bank.
At a movie theater Saturday in La Canada, they did not require masks regardless of the county's mandate. No surprise since it's La Canada. NO ONE tells these people what to do.
Yesterday at SoFi Stadium everybody wore masks on the concourses, standing in line in the restrooms, and standing in line for concessions, but most people took their masks off when they were in their seats. No one seemed to have a problem with it.
Is it the same way at Staples?
Just curious.
This morning, in a predominantly Armenian area in North Los Angeles, an Armenian woman refused to put her mask on standing in line in the bank. The bank guard gave her a mask and told her she had to wear it...and that's when the 'fun' started. First she refused to wear it, then she refused to wear it properly. She finally went as far as covering her mouth and not her nose when she turned to everyone in line and started her rant.
"That's what's wrong with this country. If you people are so terrified just stay the f*** home. I hate this damn country. You Americans are nothing but mindless cattle. I just got back from a $10,000.00 weekend in San Diego and not one person had a mask on...not at the zoo...not at SeaWorld... not at Legoland. If you're all so damn scared, just stay the hell home!"
No one said a word to this woman and she continued talking to herself until she got up to the teller window to conduct her business at which point she started ranting and raving at the poor teller about some mistake, calling her and the bank manager incompetent Americans.
I wanted to ask her if she hated it here so much, why she didn't go back to Armenia, but I was not about to engage this particular human being (and I use that term loosely). She was about 5' tall and 100 lbs dripping wet, but she was easily the most vile, foul intimidating person I have ever encountered. And I had the misfortune of being directly behind her in line.
It was quite a scene. I just wish I was a few customers back in line so I could have filmed this tirade. NO WAY was I filming her from a few feet away. She would have grabbed my phone and launched it.
Anyway, wearing masks sucks, but it's something we're all going to have to get used to because apparently this virus ain't going anywhere soon.
