Katherine Janness found dead in Piedmont Park with ‘FAT carved on chest after killer stabbed her 50 times & slayed dog’
A WOMAN was knifed at least 50 times and horrifically had the word “FAT” carved into her chest in a brutal slaying in Piedmont Park.
Katherine Janness, 40, was brutally stabbed to death in the urban park in Atlanta, Georgia, in July this year alongside her beloved dog Bowie.
An autopsy has revealed she died due to “sharp force injuries of her face, neck, and torso that caused injuries of major blood vessels and internal organs.”
The 40-year-old has been walking her dog near her home in Midtown, with her final moments chilling captured on CCTV cameras in the area.
After she failed to return home, Katherine’s partner Emma Clark became worried and used a mobile app to track her.
She then discovered Katherine’s body near the entrance to Piedmont Park on Charles Allen Avenue at around 1am on July 28.
The callous killer even cruelly slaughtered the couple’s dog – who was found just 100 feet away from Katherine’s body.
The victim had sustained at least 50 stab wounds and died from injuries to her upper body and torso, according to the autopsy report.

She also suffered several blunt force injuries – and horrifying had the word “FAT” cut into her skin on her chest and torso area.
Of the 50 slashes Katherine endured, 15 of them were slashes to her head.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s report explained Katherine’s death was classified as a homicide – but months after the slaying, no arrests have still been made.
The chilling case has been baffling local police and the FBI for over three months, despite it receiving national attention.
Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms previously said there was no evidence that a serial killer was behind the murder or that it was a hate crime.
She said: “This does not fit the description of anything that we’ve see. More than three months later, no arrests have been made in the case.”
The Mayor urged the public to get in touch with law enforcement if they have any information regarding Katherine’s murder.
Investigators even previously offered a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the killer’s capture.
