San Mateo: Three teens arrested in connection with armed robbery
Three Bay Area teenagers have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a San Mateo gas station last month, police said.
The trio — two 19-year-olds from San Mateo and Oakland and a 17-year-old from San Jose — were arrested Oct. 21 on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy, San Mateo police public information officer Alison Gilmore said in a news release Friday.
On the evening of Sept. 24, according to Gilmore, a man went into a Shell station at 2901 S. Norfolk St. and demanded money from the cash register while pointing a gun at the clerk.
Based on video surveillance, San Mateo police identified three suspects and served search and arrest warrants alongside a regional S.W.A.T. team, Gilmore said. They also recovered an AR-15 and two handguns as evidence.
