[Women's Soccer] Vanguard Attack Too Much For Hawks in 3-0 Loss
COSTA MESA, Calif. – The San Diego Christian Hawks women's soccer team were defeated 3-0 on the road at Vanguard University in Saturday's GSAC matchup. The loss moved SDCC's record to 2-10 overall and 1-6 in the conference.
Vanguard jumped on the scoreboard immediately scoring a third-minute goal and continued to keep the Hawks on their heels most of the game. The Hawks continued to defend stoically, however during the remaining minutes of the first half and only yielded a second goal in the waning minutes.
The second half saw more of the same with the Hawks playing a counter-attacking style. Unfortunately, SDCC's offensive opportunities were far and few between as they logged only 4 total shots with only 1 making it on goal.
Vanguard would put the match out of reach with their third and final goal in the 62nd minute.
