[Men's Lacrosse] Varsity Comes Storming Back to Top Alumni
Whatever legendary Williamson head coach Jim DeRose said to his varsity squad during his abbreviated halftime speech, he might want to save for the regular season. With his varsity squad trailing 7-1 at one point in the first half, and then 9-3 early in the second half, his team responded in a huge way in the second half as they scored seven straight goals to gain a 10-9 lead and then held on in dramatic fashion for an 11-10 victory over the alumni squad.
In fairness to the varsity team, with varsity lacrosse being a Spring sport, they had not officially practiced as a full squad so when they fell behind 7-1, that could almost be expected. A great sign though was the comeback they mounted to pull out the win. If that is a sign of things to come, this Spring could be a very special year for them come the Spring.
Special thanks to the alumni who played in the game and helped to make the day so special:
